Training – Introductory GPS

This session will be offered again in the fall of 2020 or where there is sufficient interest. Use the sign up sheet and email address if you are would like to do this training sooner.

Target Group: Beginners
Prerequisite: Have completed a map and compass course
Time:  2 sessions (1 classroom and 1 field)
Class size: Limited to 6 for classroom work and 12 for field training (may share GPS)
Location: Arctic Response 101, 349 Old Airport Rd

AND register for the Field portion
C: November 23 13:00-15:00

 YKSAR will provide GPS units and maps for use during the course.  Please bring your own compass, ruler, and pencil.  The subject matter will deal with the basic use of GPS, primarily for SAR purposes.  While there are transferable skills, this course will not cover recreational uses or geocaching.
